So lets get this straight. Ramchandra series is a long series ( really loooong!). The first book was about the protagonist "Ram". His childhood, his education, his principles, till Ravan capturing Sita. Now that book was even more interesting than the Shiva trilogy because the philosophy was a bit broadminded and the characters almost match with the actual Ramayana, the epic. Stop there, we waited for almost two years for the next book, Sita and the amazon took even longer to deliver the book.  With no further adieu, lets jump into the plot.



The author misinterpreted with Ramayana and created a far different theme than the actual Ramayana. For example in the epic, Ram would give his ring to Hanuman and he would take it to lanka. There he would try to talk to Sita but she would ignore him thinking that Hanuman is a ploy by Raavan to make her fall into his trap. And only when Hanuman shows the ring, she would actually believe and her face would glow with hope and faith and a little happiness. Dot . In this book , Hanuman comes as Sita's friend Radhika's brother when Sita is in Gurukul. The worse part is when Sita calls Hanuman as "Hans" (Seriously pathetic).

See now the die hard Amish fans would come like "You guys were okay with the Shiva trilogy and now suddenly started to dance for this Sita book alone ? You are an anti-Indian". Imagine your grand child reading this Ramchandra series and actually there was a "Pushpak Vimanam", there was actually a punishment for "Asuraastra" was exile for 14 years and nothing to do with kaykeye? See we understand this is a fantasy fiction . Why not create your own world like harry potter or even Bahubali for this case ? Shiva Trilogy was a success because most of us never knew the actual story about Lord Shiva and we were totally well with it . But this brutal attack on Ramayana, nope. Just a big NO!.

The flaws in the books are it is bit dragging, even with lesser pages than Scion of Ikshvaku but we couldn't go with the flow . The philosophical talks  doesn't merge with the plot as it did in the previous books. The biggest letdown was the emotions don't workout well. See in the first book the bonding between Lakshman and Ram was so intense that we celebrated brotherhood. But in this book Urmila and Sita don't come-out as they should have. The love between Ram and Sita is the essence of the whole Ramayana but the author never ever convinces that they loved at all. Sita conveys ram that she is the next Vishnu after six years of life in the forest. Love !!!! The part in the Kishkinta is dragging to such an extent that we feel like skipping pages. The repeatation is also boring (around some 100 pages from the first part is repeated here).

Yeah this Sita is a good book. Gripping at times. A package delivered. But the same formula for past 5 books? I never understand what is wrong in women being women ? You don't have to force them to put on masculine shadow to show them as a strong person of will . We all know that giving birth to a child is the bravest, toughest and most difficult task in the planet. We respect them, all the writers please don't force women as either pink lovers or the one who moves himalays with her single hand. When you compare it with book number 1 of this series, this book is a let down, in many aspects. And three more books to see the end ? seriously it makes it all a bit lengthy and it will provoke a lack of interest for sure. We all know Amish is India's Paulo Coelho, but Paulo just didn't write Aleph and the alchemist, he also wrote the Adultery and Eleven Minutes.

To general readers : Don't get too excited .
To Amish fans : Could have been a lot better.
To Literature Geeks : Yup, he did Slaughter Ramayana.

Being a back bencher, we would all have been ridiculed by most of the teachers. Their eyes would never meet ours when talking about the best things of education and the pursuit of good marks but the moment they need to divert the topic or bring in some fun, Eureka !!! Last benchers ! But there are few teachers who inspire us genuinely. Who see our actual talent, who would never judge you based on your marks, who would always come into our memory when we hear the word "teacher" , the one who made us proud for who we are! One such teacher is Mr. Morrie Schwartz. 


Mr. Morrie is dying, he just enlightens us with his experience, with his wisdom, with his confidence, with his courage, his enthusiasm and what not. Now don't get sacred thinking this is a serious book about a student teacher relationship which will be filled with advises or a person's blabbering who is on his deathbed.This book is filled with humor, emotions, positivity, questions and answers.  We would never forget our favorite teacher in our life. We could relate Morrie to that special teacher.
